Welcome to the information site of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC). Thank you for your interest in the work of Switzerland's Federal Department for the infrastructure and the environment and its director, Moritz Leuenberger.

In the DETEC there are more than 1700 persons devoted to the main concern of this department, namely, to assure the sustainable provision of primary services in Switzerland. We want to meet present requirements for infrastructures and at the same time to secure for future generations the chances of an intact environment.

We do our best to make information concerning the department available also in English. Regrettably, this is not always possible.
