Basis for restricting the essential postal services in the event of severe power shortages
Bern, 8.12.2023 - Swiss Post should maintain its basic postal and payment services whenever possible, even in the event of a prolonged power shortage. However, if restrictions are imposed on universal service due to electricity-saving measures, Swiss Post should not face any penalties. At its meeting on 8 December 2023, the Federal Council submitted the corresponding ordinance for consultation.
