Federal Council rejects 'SRG Initiative', but cost of radio and television fee set to fall

Bern, 08.11.2023 - The Federal Council rejects the federal popular initiative '200 francs is enough!' (SRG Initiative). He took the decision at its meeting on 8 November. However, in view of the financial burden on households, the Federal Council plans to lower the fee to CHF 300 a year. In adjusting the exemption threshold to an annual turnover of CHF 1.2 million, more small businesses should also benefit as well. To implement these changes, the Federal Council intends to partially revise the Radio and Television Ordinance.
