Matthias Ramsauer has been Secretary General of DETEC since 1 January 2019. He is the department’s chief of staff.
Matthias Ramsauer has been Secretary General of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications since 1 January 2019. Prior to that, he was Deputy Director and Head of the Radio and Television Division at the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) from 2005. From 1997 to 2005 he worked as Deputy Head of the Telecom Services Division and Head of the Legal and Information Society Section at OFCOM. From 2011 to 2018 Matthias Ramsauer was Secretary General of the Federal Department of Justice and Police. After studying law at the University of Bern, Matthias Ramsauer began his professional career as a research assistant in the General Secretariat of the then Federal Department of Transport and Energy.
