Federal Councillor Albert Rösti opened the panel discussion on 'Advancing AI-Powered Sustainable Development' at the Annual Meeting. The discussions followed on from the 'AI Safety Summit' held in London on 2 November, which Albert Rösti also attended. For Albert Rösti, in his capacity as media minister, it is important to harness the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence, while at the same time protecting fundamental rights.

Mr Rösti also sees great potential in the use of AI in agriculture where this technology can make a major contribution to security of supply.

Geneva, which is already home to many organisations involved in digital policy and new technologies, can play an important role internationally in the development and advancement of AI.
